PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and light-weight suction tool for an electric vacuum cleaner and the electric vacuum cleaner by maintaining dust collecting performance especially on a carpet without raising the torque of a driving source. SOLUTION: A freely rotatable agitator 19 is constituted of a cylindrical rotator 20 and a wiping member 23 fitted to a groove 22 provided in the longitudinal direction of the peripheral surface of the rotator 20. By making the diameter of the rotator 20 larger than before and increasing the speed of the peripheral surface, the power of the drive source can be lowered and the dust collecting performance is maintained even when the rotation speed of the rotator 20 itself is made lower than before. Also, by making the rotator 20 cylindrical, weight is reduced as well. By maintaining the dust collecting performance especially on the carpet without raising the torque of the drive source, this small- sized and light-weight suction tool for the electric vacuum cleaner is provided.
