PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an alicyclic dissolution inhibition compound having economic efficiency, a low manufacturing cost, high performances as a dissolution inhibitor (clear contrast) and excellent adhesivity to a substrate. SOLUTION: The di-t-butyl ester compounds are 5-t-butoxycarbonyl-5-t- butoxycarbonylmethyl-2-norbornane compound of formula [1] and 5-t- butoxycarbonyl-5-t-butoxycarbonylnorbornane compound. This method for producing the compound of formula [1] comprises reacting a compound of formula [2] with isobutene or t-butanol in the presence of an acid catalyst.
