PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a glaze stabilizing agent capable of providing a glaze with excellent dispersion properties and excellent long-term viscosity stability and improving storage stability, and also, to provide a glaze stabilization method using the stabilizing agent. SOLUTION: This stabilizing agent contains at least one organophosphorus compound metal salt selected from 1-hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid metal salts represented by general formula (1), nitrilotrismethylenephosphonic acid metal salts represented by general formula (2), phosphoric acid diester metal salts represented by general formula (3) and phosphoric acid monoester metal salts represented by general formula (4).
