PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically conduct work for fixing a branching device to a drum. SOLUTION: This device is provided for fixing the branching device 1 for connecting a towing cable 2 to a cable sensor 3 onto a drum 4a in winding the towing cable 2 over a flange 4c provided on the drum 4a. A fixing metal 5 is pivotally attached at both sides of the branching device 1 to be freely capable of oscillating so that an upper and a lower ends penetrate both surfaces of the branching device 1, and that an engagement protrusion 5b provided at the lower end is movable to get closer to or apart from the flange 4c. The fixing metal 5 is energized by a plate spring 6 so that the engagement protrusion 5b gets closer to the flange 4c. An engagement groove 4ca to be engaged with the engagement protrusion 5b is provided in a side surface of the flange 4c on the drum 4a. Above the flange 4c close to a winding starting position for the towing cable 2 on the drum 4a, a roller 7 to press a pressing arm 5a toward the surface side of the branching device 1 in fixing the branching device 1 to the drum 4a, and let the fixing metal 5 oscillate in such a direction as to let the engagement protrusion 5b get apart from the engagement groove 4ca is pivotally attached to be freely rotatable.
