METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THERMOCHROMIC DIMMING ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a liquid crystal vacuum injection process to be used in the manufacture of a liquid crystal cell to the method for manufacturing a thermochromic dimming element which is subjected to a change of the state from white turbidity to transparency or from transparency to white turbidity by artificially and electrically heating or cooling the dimming element from a transition temperature as a borderline and thereby simplify the manufacturing method for the dimming element. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the thermochromic dimming element which has a thermochromic material made up of an aqueous polymer solution and/or an aqueous hydrogel solution packed in a gap between the peripheral parts sealed using a sealer of a pair of mutually opposed transparent substrates separated from each other, at least the opposed side of either of the transparent substrates is a transparent substrate with the applied and dried aqueous solution. In this case, the transparent substrates are opposed to each other with the peripheral edge parts sealed excepting a part thereof and then water or the aqueous solution is injected into the gap under vacuum.
