FLUID COMPOSITION FOR TRACTION DRIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fluid composition for traction drives which is applicable not only to a power-transmission system but also to a hydraulic control system and a friction property control system using a wet clutch. SOLUTION: This fluid composition for traction drives is prepared by compounding (A) a base oil having a traction coefficient of >=0.05 with (B) from 0.01 to 10 mass %, based on the total weight of the composition, one or more oils selected from the following (B-1) and (B-2), (B-1) a mineral oil having a dynamic viscosity at 100 deg.C of from 1.5 to 5.0 mm2/s and a pour point of <=-20 deg.C, (B-2) a synthetic oil having a dynamic viscosity at 100 deg.C of from 1.3 to 3.0 mm2/s and a low-temperature viscosity at -40 deg.C of <=2,000 mPa.s.
