PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag for restraining manufacturing man-hours and a cost and restraining leakage of inflating gas from slits up to completing inflation. SOLUTION: This air bag 10 is constituted by having the slits 20 and 21 in a peripheral wall 11, and inflates by projecting from a housing part 33 at inflating gas inflow time, and can exhaust surplus inflating gas from a vent hole 22 formed of the opened slits 20 and 21. The slits 20 and 21 are arranged so that the slit lengthwise direction X runs in the acting direction of tensile force T1 acting on a slit arranging part of the peripheral wall 11 when projecting from the housing part 33.
