PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jet propelled planing boat capable of keeping steerage of the boat even if the amount of water jetted from a water jet pump is decreased, without increasing the weight thereof. SOLUTION: This jet propelled planing boat jets water pressurized/accelerated by the water jet pump P from a rear nozzle K so as to propel by the reaction, and keeps a steerage function when a throttle is operated to be OFF. The jet propelled planing boat is provided with a throttle opening detecting sensor Sb for detecting the OFF operation of the throttle, and a steering position detecting sensor Sp for detecting a steerage state of a steering. When a signal indicating that the throttle is operated to be OFF is obtained from the throttle opening detecting sensor Sb and a signal indicating that the steering is operated is obtained from the steering position detecting sensor Sp, a jet timing of a fuel jetting device Fe for an engine is changed to temporarily increase engine speed.
