PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that overhead welding is disadvantageous when performing the welding in a jobsite, etc., because the overhead welding is difficult to perform regardless of whether the welding is performed by a manual operation or by a welding machine though the overhead welding is widely performed to the lower part of a butt part when performing the butt welding of a pipe body almost in the horizontal direction in the jobsite, etc. SOLUTION: In this invention, one or more opening parts are provided at one or both pipe ends of pipe bodies facing each other in a butt part or in the vicinity of the pipe ends. By using the opening part(s), welding from the inside of the pipe body is enabled, for the lower part of the butt part thus making the overhead welding unnecessary. Consequently, the welding work is facilitated, and the quality of the welding work can be improved than heretofore. A construction cost can also be saved.
