PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wax film applying method capable of easily performing a work for protecting a floor surface with the wax film to be a coating film cured with the ultraviolet irradiation at the site. SOLUTION: The wax film applying method has a coating film forming process for forming the coating film on the floor by applying the ultraviolet curing wax, which is set the cross-linkable range wide by incorporating plural hardening initiators having different hardening starting time, and a ultraviolet irradiation process for hardening the wax by irradiating the coating film with ultraviolet ray by the ultraviolet irradiation device movable on the floor and is capable of forming the coating film having hardly sliding property and hardly soil sticking property by widening the hardening range fixed by the distance between the floor surface and a light source and the irradiation energy to stabilize the hardening property of the ultraviolet curing wax in the coating site and incorporating a silicone resin in the ultraviolet hardening wax.
