PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure to permit label sewing even in the case when the set speed of a sewing machine is too low. SOLUTION: In a single thread loop stitch buttoning sewing machine provided with a selecting means selecting an optional sewing form from a plurality of sewing forms including at least button sewing and label sewing, a performed sewing speed is set at a limited speed guaranteeing the penetrating force to a label or higher at the time of label sewing. For example, the maximum speed and the limited speed that are set are read (Steps S1, S6), and the performed sewing speed is set at the limited speed (Steps S7, S8) in the case when the set maximum speed is lower than the limited speed. The performed sewing speed is set at the set sewing speed or the maximum speed (Steps S7, S9 to S11) in the case when the maximum speed is the limited speed or higher.
