SOLUTION: This method for inflating a vehicle occupant restraint implement is a method including a step for storing first gas 78 in a first chamber 70, a step for storing second gas 80 composed of a combustible gas mixture in a second chamber 72, a step for releasing the first and second gases at different time and flowing the gases from the first and second chambers at different time, a step for igniting the combustible gas mixture after releasing the first gas from the first chamber and a step for sending the first gas and the ignited combustible gas mixture in the vehicle occupant restraint implement.
