PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for selective oxidization reaction with which lower alcohol partial oxides such as dimethoxymethane can be further selectively and efficiently produced by direct oxidization of lower alcohols such as methanol with good selectivity and efficiency and to provide a method for selective and efficient production of lower alcohol partial oxides or the like such as dimethoxymethane from lower alcohols such as methanol by using the catalyst for selective oxidization reaction. SOLUTION: Lower alcohol partial oxides are produced by vapor phase catalytic oxidation of lower alcohols with a gas containing molecular oxygen in the presence of the catalyst for selective oxidization reaction having rhenium oxide or rhenium oxide deposited on a metal oxide carrier such as iron, titanium, zirconium, silicon, aluminum, vanadium or the like as the active component. Or, lower hydrocarbon nitrile compounds are produced by vapor phase catalytic ammoxidation of lower hydrocarbons with a gas containing molecular oxygen and ammonia in the presence of the catalyst for selective oxidation reaction. |
