PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such an underground water cleaning device whose removal efficiency is enhanced with a simple constitution consisting essentially of removal of a volatile organic compound and whose equipment cost and the operation expense are reduced, in a water treating device for pumping underground water contaminated with chemical substance, etc., and cleaning it. SOLUTION: The treating water is uniformly poured on a filter medium surface by a water spray pipe 10 by providing an upper part treating water layer 16 in an activated carbon layer 15, and after filtering it is uniformly discharged through a water collection pipe 19 and channelling does not occur in the activated carbon layer 15, thus adsorption efficiency of contaminated substance is enhanced. As a power source for driving a water pump 3a, a solar battery 33, a wind power generator 34 and a fuel cell 38 are arranged and the device can be independently operated by self supply of electric power using natural and chemical energies, and as a result, it is a compact and simple device and large in the degree of freedom of the installation and the operation, and economical. |
