PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a weight of a protective cap for a metallic container made of stainless steel or the like and prevent an upper head of the container from being damaged or eliminate a noise in mounting. SOLUTION: The protective cap 32 is mounted on the stainless steel container 10 to cover its lid 14. The cap 32 is constituted of a synthetic resin material such as a polyethylene and comprises a cap body 34 and a plurality of locking members 36 provided separately in a circumferential direction along an inner periphery of the cap body 34. A platelike base 38 of the locking member 36 is inserted at its upper end into a bag-formed groove 44 on the inner periphery of the cap body, and an engaging portion 42 at a lower end is engaged in a snapping manner with a locking opening 46 bored on the body 34. |
