PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat treatment method by which the heat treatment and the surface treatment can efficiently and uniformly be performed for a short time to a cylindrical metallic coil. SOLUTION: In the inner surface of the cylindrical metallic coil made by winding a belt-shaped metal, a mandrel which can wind into smaller than the inner diameter of the coil, is arranged, and while winding the belt-shaped metal into the small diameter, a space between the coil layers, is arranged, and the heat treatment is performed so as to apply the heating, cooling and interface reaction by flowing through high temperature gas, low temperature gas and reactive gas.
