PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid cosmetic which is excellent in the transparency of the appearance, shows excellent storage stability, possesses strong strength when being made in a stick form and exhibits excellent moisture retention after being used when applied to the lip or other skins. SOLUTION: This solid cosmetic features including a hydroxycarboxylic acid bearing a 9-34C alkyl group, an ester between resin acid contained in resins or resin acid equal to the above resin acid and an alcohol and/or its derivative, a liquid oil, an amorphous fine-particle silicic anhydride with a particle diameter of 0.001-0.05μm and water.
