PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gas separating membrane of a polyimide resin having excellent selectivity, heat resistance, chemical resistance, film forming properties, etc. SOLUTION: The polyimide resin has repeating structural units represented by formula (1) (wherein R is a tetravalent organic group; n is an integer of 1 to 8; and m is an integer of 50 to 800). The gas separating membrane is made by using it.
