PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide trimanganese tetraoxide and a method for manufacturing the trimanganese tetraoxide which belongs to the tetragonal crystal system and has high purity and high tapping density. SOLUTION: The trimanganese tetraoxide is manufactured by continuous reaction of manganese ion, complexing agent and hydrogen peroxide in an alkali aqueous solution at specified pH and specified temperature. The obtained material belongs to the tetragonal crystal system and has high purity and high tapping density.
