AUTOMATIC DOCUMENT FEEDING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify and miniaturize the structure of a document part in an automatic document feeding device capable of reading both sides of a document by reversing the front and rear sides of the document and feeding the document again to an image reading position after automatically feeding the document to the image reading position. SOLUTION: The automatic document carrying device has a conforming means mounted on the upstream side of a document reading position in a feeding passage for conforming the top of the document fed by the device to the feeding passage. The conforming means conforms the document fed from a document feed passage for reading one side of the document and also conforms the front/rear reversed sheet fed from a reversed document feed passage for reading the other side of the document. The confirming means is comprised of a pair of resisting rollers, whose rotation for feeding the document and the stop of the rotation for the conformation are controlled. The conformation of the document is operated by making the document butt at a nipping point of the resisting rollers.
