SILICON-DOPED AMORPHOUS CARBON COATING FOR PAINT BELL ATOMIZER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of a paint bell without significantly affecting the cost and the performance of the device. SOLUTION: The paint bell atomizer subjected to wear resistant coating and the method for manufacturing the same. The coatings to be applied to the outside surface of the bell and cup of the paint bell atomizer are preferably silicon doped amorphous carbon coatings. The silicon doped amorphous carbon coatings can adversely affect the performance of the paint bell atomizer when there are no coating. The action of the wearable materials on the surfaces which can be worn of the bell and cup inclusive of sawtooth-like end faces in upper parts is restricted, by which the service life of the bell and cup of the paint bell atomizer system is greatly prolonged.
