PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a modified fuel which can improve the performance of a combustion engine or a combustion equipment. SOLUTION: There are provided a process for producing a modified fuel wherein a raw inorganic composition such as igneous rock is calcined and the thus-activated inorganic composition 6a is brought into contact with a feed fuel 8 such as gasoline to reduce the molecular weight of the fuel molecule or change the electronic state, and the like, of the fuel molecule, a process wherein an activated inorganic composition is prepared by placing the raw inorganic composition in an electromagnetic wave reflecting box in which inorganic organic materials are alternately laminated or placing the raw inorganic composition in the vicinity of a geomagnetism-reducing device of a conductor coil to activate the composition, and a process wherein the calcining conditions are 6-8 at 700-800 deg.C or 4-6 at 1,000-1,300 deg.C.
