PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for distributing font data, a method for processing font data and a printer in which recording of a variety of languages or fonts can be dealt with flexibly using the body of the same printer. SOLUTION: A font set storing a desired font of a user, a font map program for generating font map data by retrieving the position of each font character corresponding to data requested for recording in the font set, and a program for generating individual output data of each font character for performing a desired recording of the recording data are stored in an external storage unit 6 connectable electrically with the control section 4 of a printer body 2 and distributed therefrom. |
