PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing costs of a cable by speeding up and facilitating a fixing work for fixing a cable winding starting end to a cable drum. SOLUTION: A cable winding starting end penetrated from a cavity 11b provided in a collar part 11a of the cable drum 11 to the outside is guided by a winding starting end guide 31 such as a cylindrical body made of plastics, and crimped and fixed by a winding starting end crimping/fixing means 30 mounted to the outer wall surface of the cable drum 11 to be fixed to the cable drum 11. The winding starting end crimping/fixing means 30 comprises two flat plates having a recessed part with a width capable of storing the cable winding starting end, and comprises a pair of crimping/fixing members 30a for sandwiching and grabbing the cable winding starting end, and pressuring mechanisms 30b such as air cylinders for pressuring the crimping/fixing members 30a grabbing the cable winding starting end to increase a frictional force between it and the cable winding starting end for fixing.
