PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating agent excellent in transparency, heat resistance, moisture resistance, waterproof, chemical resistance and electric insulation properties. SOLUTION: This coating agent is obtained by dissolving a thermoplastic norbornene-based resin having 20,000-100,000 weight average molecular weight in a solvent having 80-200 deg.C boiling point so that the concentration may be 5-60 wt.%, and further adding 5-50,000 ppm leveling agent to the resultant solution.
