A magnetic recording device is covered with a case (15, 16). A cartridge slot (18) for receiving a cartridge containing a recording disk is formed in the rear end of the case (15, 16). A frame plate (19) included in the case is drawn to form a first recess and a second recess. A disk drive motor (5) is fitted in the first recess, while a head drive motor (16) for driving a read/write head (17) with respect to the disk is fitted in the second recess. |
