PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work data collection method by which work state data can be collected from a bright room and a dark room. SOLUTION: A user uses an infrared video camera 14 to pick up a work of a worker 11 in a dark room. A viewer 12 operates a local switch 21 by each break of the work to enter a break signal, a corresponding work name is sought from a work name list displayed on a liquid crystal display device 15 and stores it in a hard disk of a portable personal computer 20. When there is found no corresponding work name in the work name list, the user uses a microphone 16 and enters it by voice, the voice is converted into character data which are recorded. The work data such as image pickup data, the break signal and the work name stored in the portable personal computer 20 are transferred to a data processing personal computer 25, where the data are confirmed, corrected, and converted into a graph or a list or the like, which are checked and analyzed and printed out as required. In a bright room, the user uses a video camera whose sensitivity is set to a visible light wavelength band.
