PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastic tape effective for (a) preventing the pressed feeling and the biting at the body part contacting with underwear, (b) improving the wearing comfortableness by improving the fittability to the body and (c) improving the followability to the motion of the body. SOLUTION: A plurality of steps increasing the thickness from a side edge to the other side edge are formed on at least one surface of the tape and the elasticity of the step is set to be higher at the step having smaller thickness. The tape is used for the welting of the shoulder strap and cup of brassier, welting of the body opening and leg opening of panties, etc., in a manner to contact the stepped side with the skin. Since the surface in contact with the skin has steps, the step is slightly pushed into the soft skin by a weak elastic force to catch the skin, increase the friction coefficient and achieve uniform fitting of the whole tape to the skin. Accordingly, the cloth tape can be brought into contact with the skin at a uniform pressure to more effectively prevent the slippage of the underwear.
