PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera of which cost is reduced. SOLUTION: An output port PO1 of an MPU 40 is set to be in an 'L' level state. Exciter pulses having a very low duty ratio are outputted from an output port PO2. The power from a battery 30 is used to charge a main capacitor 67 through a boosting transformer 61 and a diode 66. The analog voltage divided by resistors 73 and 74 is monitored by an analog/digital port A/D2. The duty ratio is switched in accordance with the monitored digital value. An analog voltage divided by resistors 71 and 72 is A/D converted by an analog/digital port A/D1 and the residual power of the battery 30 is measured.
