PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system, consisting of a camera which converts a photographed image into electronic data and of an accessory, such as an external power supply that is used while being mounted onto the camera that can realize a plurality of functions at the same time, with an inexpensive and simple configuration and high efficiency. SOLUTION: An image pickup element converts an image of an object into an image signal in a camera body 1, and the image signal is recorded in a memory. Furthermore, an external power supply body 11 incorporating a battery is used, while being mounted onto the camera body 11, and a radio communication section, a signal-processing section, a memory-storing software applications, such as a communication protocol and a CPU, are built in the external power supply main body 11. Then the operation input and display for radio communication by the external power supply are conducted, by using a display device and an operation member of the camera body 1.
