PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket contact which is formed so that its contact part effectively follows vibration, while keeping its dimension as small as possible. SOLUTION: The socket contact has a sidewall part 1 forming a receiving part for receiving a mating contact. The socket contact is provided with a first follow-up spring part 2 extending from the sidewall part to the rear end of the receiving part, and a second follow-up spring part 3 extending from the free end of the first follow-up spring part to the front end passing through the receiving part. A pair of contact parts 4 extend in mutually counterposed fashion from the free end of the second follow-up spring part to the rear end through the receiving part. A contact spring part is provided with a contact part 5 for making contact with the mating contact.
