PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing system which can be operated without forcing an excessive burden on a system provider. SOLUTION: The information providing system provides prescribed information by transmitting conversation information through a communication network 11 to a terminal 7 of a general user. This system has a useful conversion information storage part 29 for storing conversation information and an information providing processing part 17 for selecting prescribed conversation information out of the conversation information stored in the useful conversation information storage part 29 and transmitting the selected conversation information through the communication network 11 to the terminal 7 of the general user. This information providing processing part 17 receives the conversation information which is transmitted through the communication network from the terminal of the information provider for providing the prescribed information to the general user and in which the prescribed information is expressed in the form of one or more speeches, and stores the received conversation information in the conversation information storage part 29.
