PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing data output device allowing a user to easily perform a printing suitable to the user's purpose even if the characteristics of PDL is not familiar to the user without performing a special work to printing data. SOLUTION: In this data output device, a PDL is optionally selected from among plural kinds of PDLs usable in a terminal device to be connected to a personal computer and the like, and data to be outputted are outputted in the form of the selected PDL. This device comprises a selection screen 10 for integrally displaying characteristics of respective PDLs on the same screen, a setting screen of multi-shot function 24 and form overlay function 26 for properly selectively inputting the characteristic desired by the user in the reference to the selection screen 10, and a functional processing block 6 for setting the PDL suitable to the characteristic inputted in the characteristic input screen. |
