摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic focus adjusting device by which high-speed and highly accurate focusing is always attained. SOLUTION: This device possesses two systems, such as the first focus adjusting means 15-18 of a hybrid system, by which the integration mode of an integration type photodetecting sensors 204a and 204b is selectively switched to an active mode and a passive mode, range-finding calculation is performed, based on the integral quantity of a subject image signal obtained by an integrating means and focusing is performed, by driving a focusing optical system and the second focus adjusting means 12-17 of a TTL contrast system to perform the focusing by calculating a focus evaluation value, based on the subject image signal from an image pickup device 12 and detecting the maximum value of the focus evaluation value while driving a focusing lens, and after a lens is driven to a position on this side of an estimated focal point by a prescribed quantity by the first focusing means at the beginning, a focal point is obtained by driving the lens in term of mountain-climbing by the second focusing means.
