PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a lubricating means in a guide device for a power transmission member used for a winding type power transmission device such as a chain power transmission device and the like. SOLUTION: This guide device for the winding type power transmission member comprises a sliding contact member 2 contacting to a winding type power transmission member on a front face, a supporting member for supporting a back face of the sliding contact member 2 integrally formed with the sliding contact member 2, an oil feeding groove 6a for lubricating oil provided on a contact surface of the sliding contact member 2 in a longitudinal direction, an oil feeding means placed on the sliding contact member 2 on an upstream side in a turning direction of the power transmission member to feed the lubricating oil to the contact surface of the sliding contact member 2, and a communicating passage 4 making the oil feeding means directly communicate with the oil feeding groove 6a.
