PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable sensitive material excellent in image preservability before and after development without incurring the lowering of sensitivity. SOLUTION: In the heat developable sensitive material with at least one sensitive layer containing a binder, an organic silver salt, a reducing agent for silver ions and sensitive silver halide and at least one non-sensitive layer containing a binder on one face of the base, the binder in the sensitive layer is a polyvinyl butyral and at least one non-sensitive layer contains a compound of formula (I) or (II) (where R1-R5 are each alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, aryloxy, amino or a heterocyclic group, each of these groups may have a substituent, adjacent two of R1-R5 may form a cyclic structure together with P, when one of adjacent two of R1-R5 is aryloxy, the adjacent two does not form a cyclic structure together with P, and L is a combining group).
