PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight of a board packaging spacer and to enable automatic packaging by an automatic packaging machine. SOLUTION: A thin sheet metal member is bent to form a base part 10 where a screw is passed, a side part 20 for fixing a screw by a screw fixing piece 21, and a joint part 30 having a joint surface 30b soldered to a printed wiring board. That is, a spacer 1 is manufactured by sheet metal press working. The base part 10 is provided with a slit 11, and a screw hole is not formed until the tip of a screw is brought into press-contact with the part. That is, before the screw is passed, the top face 10a of the base part 10 is a flat surface, and the top face 10a is sucked to a suction nozzle of the automatic packaging machine.
