PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a combustion type detoxifying apparatus which reduces fuel consumption while surely performing a treatment for detoxifying noxious substances. SOLUTION: In performing detoxification treatment of the noxious substances with the combustion type detoxifying apparatus having a main burner and a pilot burner, the pilot burner is kept fired and fuel supply to the main burner is controlled by external signals.
