PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel bent pipe having excellent earthquake resistance. SOLUTION: The steel bent pipe is manufactured by welding and joining a plurality of straight pipes having a cutting plane inclining to a circumferential direction so as to have a desired radius of curvature, and thicknesses of the straight pipes 3, 4 adjacent to a weld 2 which is closest to a center part of the steel bent pipe 1 in a longitudinal direction are larger than thicknesses of straight pipes 5, 6 in other parts.
