PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a grain diameter sufficient for keeping recording magnetization stability, while keeping separation among grains made of a ferromagnetic material and to realize low noise properties and a satisfactory signal write characteristics. SOLUTION: A recording layer 3 has a structure, in which the grains 5 made of the ferromagnetic material are dispersed in a nonmagnetic material 4. A glass material, having a melting point Tn lower than the melting point of SiO2 and equal to the melting point Tmag of the ferromagnetic material or higher is used as the nonmagnetic material 4.
