PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mail acquiring method capable of shortening the time for the intention decision by a user to acquire a desired electronic mail. SOLUTION: A processing means 100 interprets the information of an electronic mail taken out from a mail box, recognizes the attributes as the information indicating the type of the mail, e.g. the degree of importance of the mail, whether it has been read or not yet, and whether it can be displayed on a terminal or not, and makes the recognized attributes correspond to the information indicating the electronic mail, e.g. the identification number of the electronic mail to manage them. The information managed by the processing means 100 is outputted by an output means 80.
