PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte battery that has a large discharge capacity and an excellent cycle characteristics having no capacity lowering with the progress of charge and discharge cycle. SOLUTION: In the non-aqueous electrolyte battery equipped with a positive electrode which contains a substance of storing and emitting lithium ion, a positive electrode active material is used which is expressed in the general formula Ni1-x-yCoxMyO2Hn (wherein M is at least one or more elements as selected from a group of Cd, Zn, Mn, Al, Ca, Mg, and rare earth elements, 0<x<0.5, 0<y<0.3, 0.5>(x+y), 0.4<n<1.1). |
