PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the range finding time, and accurately find the range regardless of contrast of an object to be measured. SOLUTION: This range finder is provided with an active range finding means, a passive range finding means, a photo-detecting means in which in the case of using the passive range finding means, a pixel range of integrating and reading out signal charge at one time is set wider than the case of using the active range finding means, and a charge transfer means having an annular charge transfer part, at least a part of which is connected like a ring for sequentially integrating the signal charge transferred from a charge storage means for storing the output charge from the photo-detecting means. The range finder for performing range finding in the plural directions is provided with a charge transfer control means [relationship between Fig. (b) and (c)] for conducting the charge transfer control so that the order of transferring signal charge in the annular transfer part is the same as the order of arranging the respective corresponding pixels of the photo-detecting means. |
