PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tile battens 10 and 20 capable of forming a clearance S for allowing outside air to flow in the back of a pantile 17. SOLUTION: A plastic-made band-like spacer 12 having projections 12a is stuck to the base of the tile batten 10, and the clearance S communicating with the eaves side surface and the roof edge side surface of the tile batten 10 is formed by the projections 12a between the tile batten 10 and a waterproof sheet 14. When the pantile 17 hooked on the tile batten 10 is laid, the outside air flows through the clearance S formed by the projections 12a into the space at the back of the pantile 17, whereby rainwater entering the back of the pantile 17 and dew condensation generated at the back of the batten tile 17 are quickly evaporated by the outside air. Further, rainwater staying at the back of the pantile 17 flows out through the clearance S to the eaves, so that the wooden tile batten 10 can be prevented from corrosion due to humidity at the back of the pantile 17.
