PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sea-island conjugate yarn having excellent splittability, soft feeling and color development. SOLUTION: This sea-island conjugate yarn is characterized in that the conjugate yarn comprises a sea component polymer constituted of a polyethylene terephthalate copolymerized with 1.5-7.0 mol% of 5-sodiumsulfoisophthalic acid and an island component polymer composed of a polypropylene terephthalate and has the conjugate ratio of the sea component/island component of 10/90-50/50 and >=2.5 cN/dtex raw yarn strength.
