A glycidylester of general formula (I) in which R1and R4are the same or different C1- C6alkyl or C6-C 10cycloalkyl groups, and R2and R 3are the same or different and are H or C1-C6alkyl or C6-C10 cycloalkyl groups. The glycidylester is used in a thermosetting resin composition, comprising also a curing compound and preferably an advanced resin product. The thermosetting resin composition can be applied for outdoor durable coatings, having excellent resistance against acid rain.
