PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk recording and reproducing device which can secure the recordable time after erasing parts maximally. SOLUTION: When the parts 255 is erased in the state where it recorded in a time shorter than the maximum sound recording time of a disk using all of 255 pieces of parts P, an end address Ez of the parts 255 is rewritten into a read out address R. The start address of the parts 255 is set to Sz and the end address is set to R, and the recordable time of the amount added together the erase parts 255 and a residual free area f is secured by registering this one as a free area.
