PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable, capable of constituting an optical/DV wire composite cable which has the required tensile strength in particular and is superior in productivity relating to the optical cable to be used, being integrated with DV wires (insulated polyvinyl chloride wires for leading-in) and the composite cable, formed by assembling this optical cable and the DV wires. SOLUTION: This optical cable is constituted, by arranging coated optical fibers 12 formed by covering their outer peripheral parts with tension member fibers 14, which are in parallel in the longitudinal direction of the cable or in a twisted state in the central part of a sheath and disposing two pieces of FRP tension members 16 in nearly the intermediate part between the center part and outer peripheral part of the sheath in symmetrical positions.
