PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manufacture and install a cooling system, and to improve cooling efficiency of a cylinder part in an air-cooled internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: In this air-cooled internal combution engine for installing a side cover 31 in an opening part 30 by opening a flywheel side end part of a cylinder block 1, a cooling air passage 24 for the cylinder part is formed around the cylinder part 3, and a shroud 44 for surrounding the radial directional outer periphery of a flywheel 40 in a cylindrical shape is integrally molded in the side cover 31, and a partition wall 45 for shielding a part between the cylinder part 3 and the flywheel 40 is integrally molded. Cooling air taken in from the outside is supplied to the cooling air passage 24 by a cooling fan 41 arranged in the flywheel 40, and the cylinder part 3 can be efficiently cooled without returning the cooling air to the flywheel side.
