PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical blind allowing the movement operation of a slat to be easily performed by a slight operating physical force by increasing the degree of freedom in an operating position to perform the movement operation of the slat. SOLUTION: In the slat driving device for the vertical blind, a leading runner is moved by the operation of an operating cord in order to move a following runner and allow the movement operation of each of the slats to be performed, and the leading slat is operated to enable the movement operation of each of the slats. One end of the cord 12 and one end of the cord 13 are made to hang down from one end of a hanger rail 1. The cord 12 is fitted in such a manner as to be hooked on a guide roller 16 at the other end of the hanger rail 1 and reversed to be connected to the leading runners 2a and 2b. The other end of the cord 13 is connected to the leading runner 2a, and a weight member 14 is mounted on one end of the cord 12.
